Travel Guide for Crocus Bay, Anguilla

March 9, 2023

If you are envisioning pristine, picturesque white sands lapped by brilliant, azure waters as your next ideal vacation destination, Anguilla is the right place for you. Envied for some of the most magnificent sunsets in the world, Anguilla is the preferred haven of tranquility for many sophisticated travelers and celebrities. Your luxury five-bedroom villa on the island of Anguilla is located within the intimate, beautifully landscaped hillside enclave, overlooking magnificent Crocus Bay and only minutes away from its white-sand beach. This home boasts 6,000 square feet of living space, plus a private pool with an adjacent bath and outdoor rain shower for relaxing time with family and friends. And it affords the spectacular sunset views for which Anguilla is famous.

Location

Only 17 miles long and three miles wide, Anguilla is 10 miles north of St. Maarten and 200 miles east of Puerto Rico. The lack of direct flights and cruise ships makes it more exclusive and relaxed than many other Caribbean islands.

Arriving to Anguilla

Our Anguilla luxury villa is only 7 minutes by car from Clayton J. Lloyd International Airport in Anguilla (AXA), which services direct flights from Miami and San Juan.

Getting Around in Anguilla

The best way to get around in Anguilla is in a taxi, as the island is too spread out to explore on foot. Anguillan taxi drivers make excellent tour guides, and driving yourself around town could be complicated, given the unpaved roads leading to the beaches and virtually nonexistent street signs.

Some of the other transportation options include car rentals, in which case visitors must be issued an Anguillan driver’s license. It can be acquired at most car rental agencies or the Inland Revenue Department in The Valley. After you pay a one-time fee and show your valid U.S. license, you will be provided with a temporary driving permit and a rental car.

Exploring From Crocus Bay

Crocus Bay Beach in Anguilla is no longer undiscovered, but it is a pristine gem. There are several ways to fully embrace the island spirit, as Anguilla offers something for everyone! You can enjoy all types of water sports, fishing, kite boarding, windsurfing, sail boating, horseback riding, swimming with the dolphins, and so much more!

Water Activities

If you are a water lover, you can hop in the water at Crocus Bay and swim or take kayaks or boats to Little Bay. The swim is especially enjoyable, and the shallow water is rich with reef fish and coral, making it one of the best snorkeling spots in the Caribbean. To get to the reef, enter the water in front of Da’Vida restaurant and swim along the cliff’s edge. Besides various Caribbean fish such as trumpet fish, banded butterfly fish, surgeon fish, and groupers, you will also encounter many other interesting creatures here like sea cucumbers, feather duster, and Christmas tree worms.

Magnificent Sunsets

If you prefer to sit back with your dearest ones and embrace the magic sunset colors, our Anguilla villa is in a peaceful setting, perfectly perched above Crocus Bay to capture those breathtaking views.
